Local Artist Achieves Success at Home and Overseas
Alastair’s ambition as an artist has always been to create art that is not only different but also engages people through the use of subtle detailing in the pictures themselves. Since founding Papa G Prints – the home of his growing portfolio of artwork – his artwork has been part of an exhibit in London and fine art prints and originals of his artwork have been sold both in the UK and abroad.
In July, Papa G Prints artwork was on show at the Islington Arts Factory’s Summer Salon – their annual summer exhibition. The exhibition shows work from 80 artists across the country, with thousands of artists applying every year.
Since then, Alastair’s artwork has appeared in a number of publications including the art and culture magazine ‘Aesthetica Magazine’ and through building a growing following online through his website papagprints.com and social media outlets like Instagram the sale of Papa G Prints’ artwork has spread beyond Suffolk to as far as Japan!
With the artist’s trademark use of Japanese calligraphy inks used cleverly with other mediums including watercolours and acrylics, the success abroad especially in Japan, has inspired Alastair to expand his portfolio of artworks. Coming soon this summer are two new series of artworks: ‘Splash of Colour’, exploring the beautiful colours found in food; and ‘Beautiful Shapes’, focusing on portraits of the human form.
The Boxford Coffee Box – Home to the new Papa G Prints’ Mini Art Gallery
From August onwards, the hidden gem for coffee, cakes and more – the Coffee Box in Boxford – will be the home for some of Alastair’s art. All artwork will be for sale, giving people the opportunity to see the artwork while enjoying a cup of coffee in a beautiful location.
Every month, the artwork on show will change, allowing people to see both old favourites as well as the latest additions to the Papa G Prints’ portfolio of artwork.
Head on down to the Coffee Box and enjoy a cup of coffee and more. Not only will you get to see the artwork but for those living locally, you can pick up your very own Papa G Prints artwork and save yourself £10 or more in delivery costs when you collect from the Coffee Box. Alternatively, visit Alastair’s website www.papagprints.com to see his collection of artwork, where you can buy either fine art prints or the originals, as well as commission your very own artwork!
It has been a busy summer and autumn to date with a number of commissions completed, framed and delivered alongside two new series of paintings:

Following the success over the last few months, two original artworks have been put on our website for Papa G fans to purchase. One of a kind pieces that would work brilliantly as a pair or equally well as stand-alones.
Both artworks pay homage to the beautiful calligraphy found in Japan, with their use of traditional Japanese 'Sumi' ink, using a fine art Japanese calligraphy brush.
Being one-offs, be sure to check out our website before it's too late!

It's been a busy past few weeks for artist Alastair Becker with two commissions completed on top of 10 plus giclee prints being shipped off to Japan! Thank you to the fans of Papa G in Japan as the fan base continues to grow.
The A3 prints looked amazing with our artist's signature - a unique stamp made in Japan that adds a cool touch to each of the prints. It is always great to see the original artworks in larger sizes and orders for 'Ms. U' and 'Mr. Z' looked brilliant.
If your looking for something a bit different for yourself or a loved one check out thee and other Papa G prints in our online shop !

With the sun shining and the flowers in full bloom, the opportunity to photograph my new artwork was too good to pass by. New to the Papa G Prints Collection include a series of Panda and Puffin pictures using Japanese 'Sumi' ink and some more uniquely captivating pet portraits (Molly being my new favourite).
In addition to uploading the new photos of the artwork, I couldn't resist taking a few photos of the beautiful garden that played host to the shoot - Here's to the Forge - a stunning flower garden in sunny Suffolk!
